Castle Light

Castle Light is a Dublin-based poet and Western classical musician, born in Tatanagar, India. He writes on nature, societal history and human conditions.
His poem was shortlisted for the Bridport prize.

he currently resides in Dublin where he also reads Economics and Management with a keen eye toward the interwoven patterns of thought, enterprise, and society. Beyond the rigours of academia, he devote himself to the written word, chronicling the human condition in all its splendour and fragility. Striving to carve emotion from the very essence of being human — whether through self-experienced anecdotes that bear the weight of lived truth, or through pure fiction that ventures into realms unbounded by reality.

He has a profound love of research, and a particular fascination with the biographies and inner worlds of distinguished figures in literature, music, and history. And fancy Western classical music and opera finding great joy in playing both the piano and the violin. His ardour for narrative and art began early: at the age of twelve, "I composed my first poem, a piece that was selected for publication in a Bangladeshi magazine, thus heralding the inception of my literary path."

In prose and verse alike, he aspires to distil the subtleties of memory, identity, and place into works that resonate beyond the page, carrying the enduring music of thought and feeling. His writing has appeared or are forthcoming in the Filling Station, The Kenyon Review, The New Yorker and others.
